Event Overview

As economic and social development progresses across the ASEAN region, intensified industrial activity has led to increasingly severe environmental pollution issues. Soil and groundwater management, in particular, has become a pressing challenge. To foster knowledge exchange and dialogue, the Ministry of Environment organized the "2025 ASEAN Regional Forum on Soil and Groundwater Challenges and Sustainable Remediation Strategies" along with the Awards Ceremony for Investigation and Remediation on March 26, 2025. The event welcomed representatives from ASEAN countries including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, alongside Taiwanese officials, academics, industry professionals, and over 65 international students currently studying in Taiwan. With more than 200 participants in total, the forum facilitated in-depth discussions and experience-sharing, strengthening public-private partnerships and laying a solid foundation for sustainable soil and groundwater management and future regional technical cooperation.
